The hill station (Kausani) lets you gaze on the unbeatable view of an important great snow clad Himalayan mountain such as Chaukhamba, Trishul, Nandaghunty, Nanda Devi (7817 m), Maiktoli, Nandakot, Panchachuli etc. Mahatma Gandhi came to Kausani in the 1929 and got impressed by the serenity of the place and wrote a book “Ana shakti yoga” and Ana shakti Ashram in Kausani is the home where he wrote this book. The great poet Sumitra Nandan pant was also inspired by the beauty of the palace and composed many beautiful poems. He was born in Kausani and a library of his name is there.
Rudradhari Waterfall
Rudradhari Falls and Caves are ideally located at a place with terraced fields, lush green paddy fields and dense green pine forests. These magnificent waterfalls can be viewed while trekking to Adi Kailash region in the hill station of Kasauni. The Rudhadhari falls is a natural attraction here and many ancient caves are explored nearby areas. The puranic stories relate this place with Lord Shiv (Rudra) and Lord Vishnu (Hari).

Glittering Garur & Baijnath Valley at Night
Kausani, at 1890mt. lies atop a ridge, surrounded by dense pine forests and affords a magnificent view of the Garur & Baijnath valley at Night. As darkness gathered and the lights came on, one could see glittering Garur valley, the light filtering through the haze. The view is quite mesmerizing.
Lakshmi Ashram / Sarla Ashram
Lakshmi Ashram was founded in the year 1964 by Catherine Hillman who was a disciple of Mahatma Gandhi. Here, the orphaned poor girls and women are taught the various skills like growing vegetables, cooking, caring for the animals and cleaning.
Kausani Tea Garden
The famous tea garden is situated at the height of 1800 meter from sea level. the tea garden of Kausani is being developed as a tea-base for the entire state. the tea produced here is rich in flavor and of export quality. Pinnath, Bura Pinnath & Bhatkot
A temple and the village of the same name is 5 km trek from Kausani. It is built on a spur from the Gopalkot peak (2750m) overlooking the upper portion of the Kosi Valley. The temple is situated about half way up the hill above the village. The highest points for trek is near kausani is Bura Pinnath of 15 kms. Dedicated to Bhairon, the temple has a square, slated structure to its north. To the south of the temple lies a door, and is adorned with figures of rajahs on its walls.
Sumitranandan Pant Gallery
One of the most important attractions of Kausani is the Sumitranandan Pant gallery that was built in memory of the famous Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant. This gallery contains hundreds of English and Hindi books. To mark the birth anniversary of the poet, every year, a poetry symposium is organized here.
Bageshwar
Regarded as the holy land associated with Lord Sadashiva, the township of Bageshwar is located at the confluence of rivers Saryu, Gomti and the latent Bhagirathi. With the Bhileshwar and Nileshwar mountains on its east and west respectively. Bageshwar also houses a cluster of ancient temples from 8th to 12th century A.D.
Baijnath Temple
Lying in the Katyuri valley, 19 km away from Kausani and 26 km from Bageshwar, is the ancient town of Baijnath. Once a capital of the Katyuri dynasty of kings who ruled Uttaranchal during 12th and 13th century, Baijnath was once known as Kartikyapura. One of the most important places to visit in Baijnath is the historically and religiously significant Baijnath Temple constructed in the twelfth century. The temple holds significance because, according to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvati were married at the confluence of River Gomati and Garur Ganga.
Patal Bhubaneshwar
Another exciting place to visit while on a visit to Kausani is Patal Bhubhaneshwara, located at an elevation of 1350 mts. above sea level. The way to the temple is through a narrow tunnel shaped cave with more than 200 stairs downword .The narrow passage way opens into a large cave which have in them the stone carvings of many local Gods and Goddesses and can evoke weird romantic fancies and images in the religiously inclined person. Built by the flow of water, Patal Bhuvaneshwar is not just one cave, rather a series of caves within caves.
